  • New master's programme in opera

    [21 Nov 2018] A new master's programme in opera starts at the Academy of Music and Drama in the autumn of 2019. The programme is offered in close cooperation with the Gothenburg Opera, among other opera houses, and is aimed both at those who have just completed a bachelor's degree in opera or equivalent, and to singers with longer professional experience.

  • Tom Eccles and Lena Willemark new honorary doctorates at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts

    [31 May 2018] Lena Willemark, folk music singer, riksspelman and composer, and Tom Eccles, curator and director of Bard CCS, New York, have been appointed honorary doctors at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, University of Gothenburg.

    [24 May 2018] A large number of students and alumni as well as staff from the Academy of Music and Drama participated in a televised gala, celebrating the memory and hundreth anniversary of the late opera star Birgit Nilsson.

  • Nina Rupnik won soloist audition

    [27 Mar 2018] Nina Rupnik, MA Symphonic Orchestra Performance, is the 2018 solo audition winner. Nina won the audition with Carl Reineckes flute concerto. This earned her a solo performance with University of Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra next academic year.
