BA Opera

With a small number of students per year, the opera programme provides customised education with good opportunities for personal coaching. Vocal training makes up a large part of the instruction. At the same time, we work with the whole opera singer, where movement and theatrical interpretation also receive significant attention.
The Academy of Music and Drama is located in the Artisten building in central Gothenburg. Here you study in an environment similar to a professional theatre, with costumes, lighting, props and workshop. You also get to collaborate with the international MA orchestra programme located in the building. We work closely with the Göteborg Opera, but also have strong international ties, partly through renowned guest teachers such as Barbara Bonney and Henry Schaefer and partly through our own teachers who also are active internationally. You will also have an opportunity to take several study trips in Europe during your education. As a student at the Academy of Music and Drama, you have unique opportunities to apply for a large number of scholarships.

The programme is taught in Swedish.
