Information about the premises

The Academy of Music and Drama is housed in the Artisten building just behind Götaplatsen (see Addresses for more detailed description).
The building is very open plan in order to be able to receive visitors from the general public at all the concerts, shows and performances that are programmed here. There is a concert hall with 400 seats, an ensemble hall accommodating 100 persons, a choir and organ hall accommodating 80, and two larger theatres with seating for 120 and 60 people respectively, music and theatre studios as well as lecture rooms and a library.

The concert and theater venues in the builkding Artisten are all located on the ground floor and easily accessible to visitors with wheelchairs or walkers. Other floors can be reached by elevator. Sjöströmsalen is equipped with hearing aids (so-called C-loop). In the entrance hall there are two toilets for visitors with disabilities. All our toilets are gender neutral. Vehicles for those with disabilities may park outside the main entrance. For visitors with wheelchairs, baby carriages etc, there is an entrance with electronic opening to the left of the main entrance door.
