Cooperative projects and service

Apart from exchange activities, the Academy of Music and Drama participates in a large number of cooperative projects with other academies in and outside Europe.

Via the Nordplus and Erasmus networks, opportunities are offered of applying for funding to carry out shared projects and Intensive Projects.

Students and teachers from many of the Academy’s educational programmes are often involved in cooperative projects and shared courses with other academies of music and drama in Europe.
A few examples:
The Chamber Choir does regular concert tours, cooperating with chambers choirs at other academies.
Groups from the improvisation and folk/world music programmes visit equivalent programmes and courses, first and foremost in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Church musicians, percussion students, composition students and students and teachers from the electro-acoustic field often participate in cooperative ventures abroad, as do groups of chamber musicians.

The Master’s programme in orchestra performance invites guest musicians from other music academies in Europe in connection with their orchestra projects, to participate in a project at the Academy of Music and Drama and to get to know our department.
These visits often lead to applications by participating students to gain admission to this programme or to apply for an exchange year at our academy.

Service and administration of international activities

The University of Gothenburg (GU) has a well developed central service unit to facilitate international operations. The International Centre at GU offers support in the process of establishing exchange agreements between departments at the University of Gothenburg and departments all over Europe. GU has also set up overall agreements for universities, in cooperation with universities and academies all over the world.
All the students at GU have the possibility of applying for an exchange within the framework of these agreements.

Welcome Services at GU offers information and assistance to visiting researchers, international faculty, staff and students in matters concerning the arrival to and the stay at the University. They alo administrate the lease of student accommodation for exchange and guest students, as well as organising an introductory week at the beginning of each term so that the international students can get to know more about Gothenburg and the University of Gothenburg.
