The three-year BA programme in opera is a full-time course and it is offered in cooperation with other drama and music programmes at the Academy of Music and Drama.

The programme is taught in Swedish.

The programme can also provide a basis for further study at master’s level. You can read about the MA programme in musical drama performance under the Master programme tab.

Professional areas

We train singers for both concert performances and stage productions of opera and closely related areas of musical drama.

Singing techniques (90 higher education credits)
This subject includes voice training, ensemble singing, movement and dance. The teaching is offered individually and also in the form of seminars, workshops and master classes. Singers also work with score study and rehearsal teachers (pianists).

Musical drama production (75 higher education credits)
This subject comprises languages and opera theory, stage performance and music drama projects. The individual degree project of 15 higher education credits is also included in these courses.
